We are thrilled to announce the global expansion of Marinus Analytics through opening a new office in London. This exciting development marks a milestone in our mission to combat online organized crime and human trafficking, and further cements our commitment to supporting law enforcement worldwide.
From the beginning of our journey, we have continued to grow, evolving from a prototype at Carnegie Mellon University to a leader in AI for good for over a decade. Marinus Analytics has been at the forefront of innovation, leveraging technology to impact society positively.
Last year, we were proud to welcome Ian Kearns as the Director for the U.K. & Europe. Ian, who previously collaborated with us as a consultant, brings a wealth of experience and will be instrumental in fostering our relationships with British law enforcement agenciesand our clients in the U.K. and Europe.
During the past 12 months, Marinus Analytics has worked diligently with nearly all law enforcement organizations across the U.K., managed from our Pittsburgh headquarters. The opening of our London office is a natural progression to serve our growing client base in Europe better. As Ian Kearns mentioned, "We’re now working with almost the whole of U.K. law enforcement, and almost all of this was developed out of Pittsburgh. The concrete answer to the question ‘Why an office in London?’ is that we need a base here, and we need a team here to help service the client base that the company has managed to grow already here. And obviously, having staff here means we can deepen those relationships."
Our CEO and co-founder, Cara Jones, reflects on this significant achievement, noting that these relationships have been years in the making. "To work with the police, it’s a long journey to build trust and to be vetted as a vendor," Cara says. "We’ve been putting in a lot of time to cultivate these relationships, and so things like the U.K.; those seeds were planted five, six years ago now."
Cara emphasizes the impact of our efforts, stating, "What we did here in Pittsburgh — to put together technology for social good — is having a global impact. Pittsburgh has cultivated social entrepreneurs it’s having a benefit for where we’re at right now in addressing global online safety issues."
As we embark on this new chapter with our London office, we are more committed than ever to our mission of leveraging technology to protect the vulnerable and support law enforcement in their crucial work. We look forward to deepening our partnerships and making an even greater impact in the fight against human trafficking.
